We are counting down towards the end of another fantastic year and our big, looming 45th anniversary gig.
Sunday, 7th December marks the 45th anniversary of Verbal Warning's original line-up playing their first ever gig and we will mark the occasion with a very special show at Ilkeston's Latch Lifter venue.
Original singer Dave Smith is back over from Ireland and will be jumping up to perform a couple of long lost VW tunes from days gone by – rehearsals have started.
And we will add a few of our lesser played tunes in recent years into two monster sets on an afternoon not to be missed.
First set will start at 5.30pm in what is a fantastic venue and admission free.
Gigs are literally flooding in for next year – we are running out of free Saturdays and other days are getting busy too.
At long last we are going to be playing one of the big festivals at Skegness in 2026 – namely Skavegas at The Lumley in October.
We are also doing an outdoor show for the same venue in July – see our gig page for all the dates.
Our next release – a four-track EP as a taster for the next album – has taken a bit longer than expected.
We have re-recorded the four tracks and are much happier with the second attempts.
But it is getting tight to have it done in time for the 45th anniversary show. We will let you know when it's ready.
Many will already be familiar with the four tracks on it – Burning the Candle at Both Ends, McDonald's Girl, Fake News and I Don't Want to be a Twat – as they have been a staple of many of our shows since the spring.
We can't wait for you to hear how fantastic they sound recorded.
We have loads of gigs coming up – including four in eight days this month – and our big Christmas show will be at the Stumble Inn, Long Eaton, on Sunday 21st December.
See you soon x
