ANOTHER GREAT FESTIVAL BOOKING AND SAD NEWS TOO AS SUMMER LOOMS

Verbal Warning are delighted to be added to the bill of the annual Rock & Bike Festival in Long Eaton.

We have played it many times in the past and it looked likely we would miss out this year but after a nervy wait we have been given the green light to play set for you!

The festival will again be on Notts Derby Showground, Longmoor Lane, on 10th-12th July.

The bill includes excellent up and coming rockers These Wicked Rivers and we will also definitely be getting drunk to the sounds of Pogues UK - you can't beat a a bit of Shane MacGowan!

Although delighted to be on the bill of the fantastic Glastonwick Festival on the south coast (30th May- 1st June), it was also sad news to hear it will be the last.

This is another festival we have played several times down the years and we were honoured to be asked to play their 'best of the past years acts' 30th anniversary show this summer with some stellar names on the bill like The Men They Couldn't Hang, Mark Thomas and Charlie Harper from the UK Subs.

But Coombes Farm, near Shoreham by Sea, can no longer host it after this one and the organisers (Attila the Stockbroker, Mel Gordine-Tyler and Alex Hall) have decided to call time on one of the best weekends available with its combination of music, poetry and real ales and ciders in an idyllic setting.

They do promise the possibility of a new event in the future down there, but nothing is in the pipeline as yet.

But, in the meantime, we look forward to seeing all of our friends from the Brighton area and beyond and hope you have kept up your duck throwing practice. We expect to play on the Friday as things stand but at least three of us will be there all weekend to help you drink the beers!
