BIG GIGS AND CANCELLATIONS
A very Happy New Year to everyone from Verbal Warning.
It is a quiet start to the year for us with one gig in January, one in February and two in March.
Sadly the big Double Barrel weekend at Coventry's Two Tone Village & Museum, scheduled for Friday, 2nd February has had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances on the promotion side.
I know some of you were planning to go to that and use the accommodation provided too.
But we are told it will be rearranged either later this year or early next year, so all is not lost.
Another gig that won't now happen too is at The Chequers in Beeston on Saturday, 23rd November after the venue suddenly shut its doors last weekend.
That came only two weeks after we has a cracking Christmas gig there which was well attended.
Thanks to Darren and Suzanne for putting us on there for many years and all the best for whatever lies ahead for you both.
It is a great venue for Beeston and let's hope someone takes it over and continues putting live music on there before developers get other ideas of what to do with a fantastic building.
One good bit of news this year is a return for VW to Eastwood.
A lot of people have asked in recent years when we would go back there and play the Old Wine Vaults again, having not gigged there since pre-Covid.
Well we are back there twice this year on Saturday, 28th January and Saturday, 10th August.
Great to see micropub The Bunny Hop re-open in Langley Mill too and will be be back there doing what we expect to be an outdoor show on Sunday, 21st July.
We also have some extra Long Eaton shows this year with a return to the Barge after some years away on Friday, 19th July, a first ever outing to the Mill & Brook on Friday, 15th March plus the usual two shows at the fantastic Stumble Inn in April and December plus a set at Long Eaton Carnival in June too.
We are confirmed on a great bill for Vorneyfest weekend at Thoresby Park in June and hope to have news of an even bigger festival show soon as well.
Sadly for once we have not been included on the Rock and Bike Festival bill this summer though you will still find us there with a pint in hand!
We will also be playing two of our rare three-piece acoustic unplugged trio shows in Beeston and Chesterfield – see our gig guide page.
We do have some free dates to fill still so shout up if you want to book us – contact John Lomas on Facebook.
Otherwise see you soon for another year of punk rock and duck chucking!
